Update - World Map UI
A new build, and yes another iteration. This time the change was to accommodate the introduction of item types. Now each settlement also shows the item types they produce.
New Feature - Item Categories
As items began to increase and were implemented into the game, I realised the old system where traders needing specific goods no longer worked very well due to the sheer amount of different items and values that exist in the game.
The solution was to categorise trading goods into different groups such as Materials or Essentials (total of 6 different types at the moment). This reduced the unnecessary complexity that appeared with the increase of different items and made it felt similar to early stages of development (without many items).
The art assets for items have also been updated, now the colour of the glow around each item represents its item type.

Update - Barter UI and Style
Update to the barter presentation, improving animation, UI, and speed of the exchange.
Update - Tutorials
From play-testing observations and feedback, a significant oversight was the first impressions from new players and how they interpret the tutorial system. I noticed much of the UI in the very early stages of gameplay only served as clutter and distraction from allowing the player to learn the ropes. Players also tend not to read most of the tutorial explanations and relied more so on visual cues.
The solution was to hide much of the UI to not overwhelm the player from the beginning, and add popups and flashing elements to the UI to aid the tutorial explanations. The early tutorial system will continuously be iterated and refined upon in the upcoming builds through further play-testing.
